Violin Lessons

Alexander Raab Violin Studios offers private violin lessons and music lessons in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington, Belmont, Newton, Lexington and the greater Boston area. Students of all ages and ability levels are accepted. Classes run all year.

Introductory lesson - Free!

Violin lessons are paid by membership each month. No registration fee. Cancellation of membership requires 30 day notice.

Membership Tuition includes weekly violin lessons, performance classes, extra rehearsals for competitions & concerts, recitals & group performances.

- $195 for 30 min weekly lessons

-$390 for 60 min weekly lessons

By the Hour lessons or coaching is available at $120/hr

Membership dues include a minimum of 48 lessons per year. I typically take 1-2 vacation weeks in summer and 1-2 vacation weeks in winter.

All cancellations require 24-hour notice to be rescheduled.

Group Violin Classes

It is necessary for any musician to not only develop solo performance skills, but also the skills needed to write music or perform in an orchestra. Raab studios now offers classes dedicated to training and advancing the skills needed for composition and to perform in a group setting. Whether you’re trying to get accepted into an orchestra, or need to fine tune your skills to get first chair, this is a fantastic way to meet new people and have fun learning together. Availability is based on season, please inquire.

Online Music Theory Group Class (Recommended Ages 10-12) - $40 monthly, Sunday evenings at 8 EST.

Violin Group Class - Ongoing violin group classes (Somerville) - $60 monthly, Mondays & Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. (Inquire for openings)

Performance Class - 1st Sundays

Whether you live across town or on the other side of the globe, I now offer remote music lessons, so students can take lessons wherever they are. Students hail from Boston, New York City, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix and more!
